The International Foundation Studies (IFS) programme is designed to prepare students for direct entry to Year 1 of an undergraduate degree.

Students who have successfully completed Secondary School, GCE O level, or an equivalent qualification could complete the IFS within 8 months. High school leavers (GCE A levels, IB Diploma or equivalent) who do not meet the entry requirements for a bachelor’s degree may be able to fast-track their studies and complete the IFS within a shorter duration through credit exemptions for relevant module(s).

Award

Students who successfully complete all academic requirements of the programme will be awarded the International Foundation Studies certificate by Ngee Ann Academy.

  • Minimum three GCE O Level credit passes (Grade 1 to 6); or
  • Higher Nitec
  • Other qualifications will be assessed based on the equivalence to GCE O level examinations.
  • Minimum 16 Years old (based on date of birth) at point of course commencement
  • Minimum Successful completion of secondary school certificate; or
  • Completion of Grade 10 and above
  • Other qualifications will be assessed based on the equivalence to Grade 10 or Secondary School Certificate
  • Minimum 16 Years old (based on date of birth) at point of course commencement

English requirements

  • TOEFL score of at least 550 (paper-based); or
  • PTE Academic score of at least 42/100; or
  • An equivalent English language qualification; or
  • Ngee Ann Academy English Entrance Test (Pass)

Teacher-Student Ratio

At Ngee Ann Academy we are committed to providing a quality learning environment. In order to provide necessary academic support and to maximise the student learning experience, we maintain a well-balanced teacher-student ratio:  Lecture – 1:30

Minimum Class Size – 15. In an event that the class cannot commence due to low take up rate, applicants will be informed within 2 weeks before programme commencement.

Methods: Depending on your modules, you’ll be assessed through a combination of: • Class participation • Group project • Individual assignment/presentation • Quiz • Written examination
