I decided to enrol in the CSCU programme because I am a frequent user of my personal computer, relying on my laptop for work, studies and entertainment. It made perfect sense to deepen my understanding of cybersecurity to mitigate the risk of my device being hijacked.
As a retiree, I find that the benefits of this course are personal rather than a career development. I believe that learning should not stop upon retirement; instead, this stage of life is the perfect opportunity to finally pursue the interests and skills I previously did not have the time to explore.
What I particularly enjoyed about the CSCU course was the classroom setting. Unlike a Zoom call, attending in person allowed me to mix with classmates from all walks of life and various industries. We were able to enjoy lunch together and engage with our lecturer face-to-face. Furthermore, the course is reasonably priced and there are schemes available to help defray the costs.
